The  pesticide that now saturates our food supply is harmful to everyone — including our children. Learn simple ways to reverse the damage.

by Jevon Perra, Free Now Foundation

No one would intentionally harm a child, especially their own.

Americans are being poisoned and it’s time to make some simple changes. Our kids are getting the worst of it. It is not normal for kids to have gut issues like consistent tummy aches, acid reflux, and constipation, not to mention more serious diseases that have exploded since Glyphosate came on the market.

Glyphosate is the ingredient in the pesticide RoundUp, manufactured by global agrochemical company Bayer-Monsanto. This is the same company behind the disastrous pesticide DDT, marketed to the public as, “DDT Is Good for Me!” and the same company that created Agent Orange, a tactical herbicide used during the Vietnam War that ended up injuring and killing our military servicemen.

Meet Activist Zen Honeycutt:

Zen Honeycutt is an American parent and consumer, just like us. Unfortunately, her story is all too common.

It was Thanksgiving and her five-year-old son sat across from her at the dinner table. He looked miserable. His entire body was red and inflamed. His eyes glazed over and he drooped like a rag doll. There were pecans in the stuffing. He was highly allergic and almost died. Honecutt scrambled for the Epi-Pen and jabbed it into his leg. As she yanked it out, blood spurted. She rushed him to the hospital, crying as their son moaned in the back seat.

Fortunately, Honeycutt did not lose her son that day, but he went on to develop more allergies.

How is it that our children can die from food?

When we were children, allergies were rare. Something has changed and it’s not genetics. Instead of being resigned and a victim, Honeycutt decided to find out what she could do about this.

After simple, yet powerful changes in their everyday diet, Honeycutt reversed those allergies! Not long after those changes her son accidentally ate granola with walnuts. Instead of nearly dying, he just said, “Mom, my tongue itches.” That’s it. His allergy had been reduced from life-threatening to mild. In addition, the other allergies he picked up were completely gone.

Have you been told allergies are irreversible?

It may not be true. Don’t just roll over and accept a life of sickness. Honeycutt didn’t, and you don’t need to either! After she was fed up, her son’s healing started from Honeycutt watching some videos on “real” food and the link between GMO/Glyphosate and our kids getting sick. Find those videos Here. Here. Here. Here.

What is Glyphosate?

Glyphosate is the most commonly used weedkiller in the world and the most-used agricultural chemical, ever. Nearly 300 million pounds of Glyphosate-based herbicide is sprayed on farms and our food, every year. That is nearly 1 pound for every person in the US. And worse, it’s water soluble. So now, 75% of rainwater is contaminated by Glyphosate. It has crept its way into the tap water that flows into your home and everywhere else.

Despite the known risks of Glyphosate, our government continues to allow it.

Glyphosate is everywhere.

Farmers are heavily marketed and persuaded to use genetically modified (GM) crops which have been altered to withstand Glyphosate. Glyphosate kills the weeds, but not the crops which have been genetically modified to withstand Glyphosate. Twice as many pounds of Glyphosate are used worldwide than any other weed killer in the world. Where there is a GM seed (GMO), you can bet there is Glyphosate. It is used prolifically in all of the US mass-produced crops and is present in our food, water, wine, beer, breakfast foods, clothes we wear, tampons, gauze used in hospitals, urine, and even women’s breast milk.

It bears repeating, Glyphosate is now so ubiquitous that it’s even in women’s breast milk. “The levels found in the breast milk testing…are 760 to 1600 times higher than the European Drinking Water Directive allows for individual pesticides “ Test Results. It’s everywhere and as you will read, it doesn’t just safely wash away (which is a lie that is promoted by Monsanto).

Glyphosate is dangerous.

Glyphosate is everywhere, and we are getting sicker. Is there a connection?

Glyphosate disables the shikimate pathway in plants. This is why weeds die when exposed to Glyphosate. While humans do not have a shikimate pathway, the trillions of bacteria that make up the human microbiome do, and are severely impacted when exposed to Glyphosate, thus causing gut issues in us.

Chronic inflammation is the root of all disease, says triple board-certified Zach Bush, MD. And Glyphosate is the biggest cause of cellular inflammation. Source.

Compared to organically-grown produce, GMO food grown with pesticides is depleted of nutrients. This alteration in nutritional value causes even further damage to our microbiome and inhibits the body’s ability to absorb the remaining nutrients from the food. No matter how many calories we eat, we can still be deficient in nutrients. On top of this micro and macronutrient deficit, we are also consuming poisonous pesticides that have been linked to cancer!

Glyphosate is toxic.

Pesticides are toxic. GMOs are toxic. Combined, its synergy is really toxic. Our microbiome is the billions of microorganisms that live in us. These little guys are an integral part of overall health. The GMOs we consume are altering our microbiome, which is detrimental to our overall health.

Bayer-Monsanto and regulatory bodies worldwide have based the safety profile on the assumption that Glyphosate is not bio-accumulative. Anecdotal evidence says otherwise. Source. Most bread sold in the US is soaked in Glyphosate. Not only is it grown with Glyphosate, but it doused prior to harvest in order to speed up harvesting. Dr Zach Bush’s lab in Virginia tested the amount of Glyphosate in one slice of pizza. The level was 10 ppm (parts per million). The amount in one slice is enough to immediately begin degradation of the human intestinal tight junction tissue in cell culture. Source

Glyphosate makes our gut leaky.

This may not sound too bad, but it is devastating to the body. Leaky Gut is when the gut’s tight junction barrier is compromised, which, in turn, contributes to food allergies.

Glyphosate compromises the gut, causing an imbalance in the microbiome. A balanced microbiome is vital for a strong immune system and nutrient assimilation. This is how we stay healthy and not get sick! A “leaky gut” can also contribute to a “leaky brain,” as it hinders how your whole body works. Researcher Jeffrey Smith says Leaky Gut is the initial cause of all diseases. Source. With the collapse of the tight junction firewalls, all organ systems go under duress and that causes more inflammation. And recall, Dr. Zach Bush says inflammation is the root cause of all disease. So leaky gut and inflammation go hand in hand.

GMOs (and thus Glyphosate) break down tight junctions.

Glyphosate is worse for our kids

Dr. Philip Landrigan, in his book “Children and Environmental Toxins,” says, “Children are more heavily exposed to pesticides than adults because pound-for-pound, they drink more water, eat more food and breathe more air…children have many years of future life when they can develop diseases with long incubation periods such as cancer. This is particularly a concern with the herbicide Glyphosate.”

Michell Perro, MD, says kids eating GMOs/Glyphosate creates the symptoms of tummy aches, constipation, and acid reflux. If ignored, it worsens into autoimmune issues, like Hashimoto’s disease for girls. Then if ignored still, it progresses, and that is cancer.

13% of American children now have NAFLD, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The main cause is what we feed our kids. Source. A study showed that an ultra-low dose of RoundUp herbicide caused NAFLD in rats. We eat 3,700 times MORE Glyphosate in normal breakfast cereals than what was given to those rats!

Dr. Perro also tells us that “Glyphosate binds with aluminum and carries it across the blood-brain barrier into your child’s brain.” (Source), and there is a clear link between Glyphosate contributing to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). What do we do now?

Be like Honeycutt! She turned “incurable” health issues around, and so can you!

If you want to know how to be healthy in our poisoned world, look no further than Dr. Zach Bush and Dr. Michelle Perro. Their material has been quoted throughout this article. They are brilliant doctors and beautiful souls on a mission to educate the public on how to create an abundant and healthy life.

Zach Bush, MD, is a triple board-certified medical doctor. He is now the medical director of an integrative medicine practice in Charlottesville, VA. ZachBushMD.com.

Michelle Perro, MD, has 40 years of pediatric practice, including emergency medicine, hospital/urgent care, and integrative medical practices in city/suburban settings. She is listed as America’s Top 10 Pediatricians by Consumer Reports (2006-2012). Her websites are GMOScience.org. DrMichellePerro.com.

Simple steps to promote health:

Get Outside.

Expose yourself and your loved ones to the diversity of nature. Interacting each day with nature will greatly influence microbiome diversity. The more time you spend outdoors, the more resilient your health becomes: your foundation becomes strong, like the roots of a 100 year old tree. Maybe you can’t live in the woods or by the beach, but you can get out in the sun and walk in the grass and dirt without your shoes for 20 minutes. Source.

Limit sun protection. Many of us are suffering from an epidemic of vitamin D deficiency because of the lack of time in the sun, and when we do, we are slathered with sunscreen, sunglasses, and other protection. Vitamin D deficiency has been strongly linked to weak immunity.

Stop eating poison!

You can have a perfect body and still become sick if you keep consuming poisons!

Don’t let your kid eat school food. A disturbing statistic from a recent study found 95% of school lunches, and 100% of wheat products tested positive for Glyphosate. So pack them a lunch. SOURCE.

Stop or limit going out to eat. Very few restaurants are organic. Their food is made with GMO crops and full of Glyphosate.

Stop buying probiotic supplements.

This was new to me. Dr. Zach Bush says your gut is intended to have 20,000 to 30,000 species of bacteria. A typical probiotic supplement has three to seven species. If your gut gets accustomed to only 7 variants, you get sick.

Stop putting poisons on your skin.

Most name-brand personal care products are full of chemicals. Read the ingredient list! Only buy and use clean, organic personal care products with ingredients that you can pronounce. Find organic options for hair dye, menstrual pads and tampons, even toilet paper.

Start eating real food!

EAT ORGANIC. If you can’t grow your own food, buying organic is the next best way to go.

Eat fermented foods. Instead of probiotic supplements, eat wild-fermented foods like Apple cider vinegar, organic sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, fermented cheeses, live cultured yogurt and kefir. Make your own kefir! It’s easy! Here. Here.

Drink Filtered Water. Never drink tap water. It contains contaminants, including heavy metals, fluoride, and Glyphosate, to name a few. You need a good filter. A simple option is a Berkey or Alexapure, along with a shower filter.

Look At Labels! You must read labels. Don’t eat foods with ingredients you can not pronounce. Bobby Parrish with his FlavCity youtube channel is a good source for learning what to look for. Source.

Eat foods rich in sulfur. Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D, says Glyphosate derails the sulfur system in our body, so we need to replace it. Sulfur-rich foods are cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, and kale), onions, garlic, eggs, grass-fed beef, and all kinds of seafood: crabs, clams, lobsters, oysters, and scallops.

Slow down and enjoy the foods you are eating. You actually absorb more nutrients when you eat slowly. Salivate and enjoy it.

Eat healthy animal fats. Butter from grass-fed cows is high in butyrate, a very important short-chain fatty acid that is the primary fuel for the cells lining your gut. Vegetable oils in processed foods—canola oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, sunflower oil—are not healthy! As a caution, make sure the animals were raised without chemicals and GMOs.

Eat foods with manganese. Michelle Perro, MD, says that Glyphosate is a chelator. It binds to important metals like manganese, and makes it difficult for our body to absorb it. (Source) Manganese is important for mitochondrial (the powerhouse of the cell) function, gut health, bone development, and cognition. You can find it in bone broth soup, black pepper, cloves, garbanzo beans, pineapple, spinach, oats, strawberries, cinnamon, raspberries, brown rice, and beet greens.

Spice up your food with herbs and spices. Not only will herbs and spices make your food taste better, but they also provide us with nutraceuticals that help protect the body. Use garlic, ginger, coriander, basil, chili peppers, cilantro and Chinese peppercorns.

The kitchen is for everyone! Get everyone involved in meal prep. Kids and dads can help chop veggies for the week. Make one day a food prep with the whole family and even neighbors!

Good supplements to protect your gut:

Zach Bush, MD’s ION*Biome supports the  gut lining after exposure to Glyphosate and other chemicals. Source.

Apple cider vinegar breaks down Glyphosate! Add a tablespoon of it to water with lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, and a dash of cayenne. Clinical nutritionist Carrie Wojo calls this Digestive Tea. Source

Add one, new, healthy habit at a time. Do not try all of this at once! This journey is not about perfection. Just pick one thing, and after it’s a habit, do more.

Does eating organic cost more?

This image shows our real-life spending on food vs. healthcare from 1950 to 2021. There is a direct correlation between cheaper food and rising healthcare costs. The less we spend on food, the more we spend on healthcare because we are getting sicker. Getting sick is a price no one wants to pay. Pay the farmer now, or pay the doctor, later.

Let’s be like Honeycutt.

What made the difference for Honeycutt and her child who almost died from allergies?

She found out about GMOs. She had her family eat organic. She got her boy to drink an organic green drink every morning to heal his stomach. His gut, and therefore his immune system, grew stronger and his allergies faded and disappeared. His walnut allergy went from 19 down to 0.2 in severity. This was not a scientific study, this was Honeycutt’s family’s reality. His healing is a triumph over toxic food. It is a triumph of the human spirit.

Empowered with this information, Honeycutt started Moms Across America, a national coalition of unstoppable Moms. Their mission is to educate the public about the dangers of GMOs and Glyphosate. They work tirelessly to demand GMO labeling and to encourage grocery stores to offer GMO-free and organic products.

You and I can do the same. Being sick is horrible. Help educate your friends, family and your loved ones how they, too, can create vibrant, healthy bodies which support abundant life.

We need to make decisions for ourselves. It’s no longer safe to depend on the “experts” for the welfare of our families. The good news is the info is there. Fear is not a good reason to submit to intimidation, as fear has detrimental consequences of its own. Instead let’s consider together the truth and bring to light what was dark and make decisions to support the raising of health and consciousness as a whole for humanity.
