Backstory: The “Win” That Was Denied
In the fall of 2021, LAUSD implemented an illegal and entirely premature vaccine mandate for the Covid-19 vaccine for all students, faculty and staff (LA Times). Those who refused to put their children into this deeply underfunded and inadequate independent study program were forced into homeschool study, or left the state entirely.
During this time, our administrative and volunteer team was functioning and operating as the original CA chapter of Children’s Health Defense. Most of our core team has since transitioned to Free Now Foundation. Our legal team remains the same: Nicole Pearson, Jessica Barsotti and Rita Barnett-Rose, of Facts Law Truth Justice (FLTJ.)
FLTJ placed LAUSD on notice: in implementing a vaccine policy without legislative or California Department of Public Health (CDPH) approval, LAUSD was breaking the law. Time and time again, our attorneys battled in court. Finally, in July 2022, the same judge who kept ruling against our attorneys, suddenly and completely reversed his own position in a related case. After this ruling, the LAUSD student vaccine mandate was dropped in 2023 (ABC7) and our own case was then determined to be “moot,” as in, no longer relevant. Even though our attorneys had been right on every single legal point, Judge Beckloff denied them the official “win”.
Fighting For Justice
On Wed. Jan. 10, 2024, our legal team went to court in an effort to recoup our legal fees. We held a press conference prior to the hearing at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. OANN covered the event:
Our attorneys Nicole Pearson and Jessica Barsottie spoke in depth about the importance of this case. We had effectively won the battle: all demands had been met by the district. Had we not sued, thousands of children could have been injured or lost their in-person educations. Many were afraid to say no.
The vaccine injured spoke, including this heartbreaking story of a former LAUSD teacher who took the shot only to become severely injured, lose his job, lose his family, he is now homeless. This is why we are fighting for medical freedom.
Free Now Foundation volunteers and supporters at the conference.
Jennifer Kennedy, an attorney from Norton Rose Fulbright law firm, and former volunteer attorney at FLTJ, also spoke:
FOX news covered the press conference. And yet, the judge still denied their request. Nicole Pearson explained the days’ events, during her live interview on OANN:
She followed with an IG LIVE that explained the entire situation:
We are here and we aren’t going anywhere. It was a rough day in court. But we are now more determined than ever.
The whole world is rising up to fight tyranny as organizations like the WEF and the WHO work to steal our right to privacy and freedom. A poignant article in Futurism written by Ida Auken,a member of the Danish Parliament, succinctly outlines the WEF agenda “Welcome to 2030. I Own Nothing, Have No Privacy, and Life Has Never Been Better.” Is this a future that we desire to bring about or will we choose a new path? It’s heartening to see freedom-loving people all over the world protest in the streets.
Similar to 2022’s trucker protests in Canada, German farmers gather to protest devastating climate change policies:
The French, Belgian and Scottish farmers have also joined in:
As our Chairman Alix Mayer poignantly illustrates in her recent Substack article on Vaccine Passports, stripping us of our medical freedoms is key to unleashing this dystopian future.
We need YOU to help us continue with these lawsuits. It’s our best hope.
