BREAKING: Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law AB 655.
Free Now Foundation STRONGLY opposes AB 665.

This bill removes the requirement that children must be a danger to themselves or others, or be a victim of abuse, before seeking care without parental consent. This bill will remove the guardrails that prevent abuse of the current law. If this bill passes, health professionals, or school psychologists can refer a minor child for treatment or send them to a residential shelter for any reason without parental consent.

This bill was approved by the Governor and Chaptered by the State on October 7, 2023.
