Last weekend we celebrated 249 years of U.S. independence from Britain.
Now another threat to our sovereignty looms large. It’s not a secret.
It’s a Surveillance Technocracy, a form of totalitarianism.
We love technology but hate this Technocracy. When will what we love become what we hate?
I participate. I am writing online and using many elements of what could become a Surveillance Technocracy.
But I’ll tell you where I stop. I stop where many of us did when we were locked down. Those of us who didn’t get a vaccine card or vaccine passport will recall being shut out of society in 2021.
We recall how we became a “zero trust” society with people turning into Vaccine Karens and informants. We recall that two-tier society, and chose to be in the bottom tier.
That’s why I will not get the Real ID.
Yesterday’s vaccine passport could be tomorrow’s Real ID.
If you have a star in the upper right-hand corner of your driver license, you have a Real ID.
I will forever call May 7, 2025 Two-Tier Society Day, the day the Real ID became “mandatory” for flights, federal buildings and nuclear facilities.
Those of us who don’t have it are in the bottom tier, just like those of us who didn’t get vaccine cards or vaccine passports. Life may become less and less convenient for us, but it may be worth it to hold out.
What’s The Big Deal, Alix?
The Real ID Act of 2005 states your Real ID can contain: your name, address, social security number, your sex, your biometrics and future sensor technology.
While the Real ID is “just a card” right now, it will soon be digitized. That’s not a secret.
So what, people ask? Don’t they have all our data anyway?
As I’ve heard the two foremost experts on Real ID — Catherine Austin Fitts and Twila Brase –respond: If they had everything they needed for our digital prison, they wouldn’t be pushing the Real ID.
Each state had to individually accept Real ID. It took twenty years, due to massive state resistance.
“More than half of the states REFUSED this usurpation of states’ rights—25 states passed laws prohibiting compliance and 12 states passed resolutions opposing REAL ID,” states Twila Brase’s organization, Refuse Real ID.
Yet here we are, and all states have finally capitulated to the federal ID.
The Real ID is Unconstitutional
Brase’s organization, Refuse Real ID, states that “the REAL ID is an unconstitutional NATIONAL ID system, that could exert control over your life beyond the airport. It violates constitutionally protected state and personal sovereignty. Violating 10th Amendment states’ rights and privacy rights, the federal Real ID Act could potentially enable surveillance, and limits on movement, access to services and transactions.”
Another Big Deal: Federalized Data Under DHS Without Informed Consent
Your Real ID data is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security. The DMV provided the benign-looking cover for DHS to process and issue the Real ID.
The Real ID should sport the DHS insignia, but it does not.
By going to the DMV and getting your new REAL ID Driver License, you gave your consent to the Department of Homeland Security to use that data. It was right there on the application, but 99% of people missed it. It makes me wonder if real informed consent was obtained.
Doesn’t this remind you of the lack of informed consent in the face of vaccine mandates?
Our consent to federalize and allow DHS to use our verified identity and data could be the missing element that the federal government needs for the merging of all federal databases.
DHS Set Up to Combat Terrorism
The DHS was set up to root out terrorists in the wake of 9/11. That’s when we were first told about foreign invisible enemies.
In the zero trust COVID-era society, we had domestic invisible enemies: an invisible infection, and most scary of all to the establishment — anti-vaxxers. Media outlets like the Washington Post and LA Times suggested we were terrorists.
And now we have an ID under the DHS with biometrics and tracking devices. The DHS is set up to fight terrorism. Any group that doesn’t go along with the mainstream narrative can be labeled a terrorist group. We already know anti-vaxxers are on the list. Who is next? Libertarians? Christians?
It gets a bit worse, and that is an understatement.
Enter Palantir: Merging All Federal Databases Under DHS
Everyone has heard of Palantir. The Peter Thiel CIA-funded company contracted with … wait for it…DHS to merge all the federal databases together. IRS, ICE, Social Security, and very likely our social media posts.
And now that the Real ID has federalized your verified identity, biometrics and your location (via any tracking they wish to add), and you gave your consent for the DHS to use it, all this data can now be hoovered up by Palantir for the use of DHS, and combined with all the other federal databases that contain information on you.
Do we think they are investing in all this U.S. citizen data infrastructure only to target foreign terrorists and illegals?
Will the Real ID become the new platform for vaccine status and other social credit scores?
Will this lead to social credit scores based on carbon credits?
I don’t think I’m crazy to think Real ID + Palantir + DHS points to our digital prison walls coming down on us at some point. How soon, no one can say.
Maybe life won’t be significantly different for me or my children, and maybe the United States would never reach the level of a Social Credit Society like some China provinces “piloting” social credit scores. But I don’t like what I see now.
Draw Your Line
Where will you draw the line? I say no to the Real ID. I believe that’s the platform that ties it all together. 44% of us don’t have it. Let’s increase that number, now.
Take Action for Freedom
Return Your RealID: If you got the Real ID, in California and 44 other states, you can return it for a regular State-issued Driver License. DMV may push back, but you push harder. Real ID is not mandatory, except in five states.
We are investigating whether returning your Real ID will withdraw your consent for DHS to use your data. You may need to formally notify in writing both DMV and DHS that you withdraw your consent. Stay tuned.
I believe that just like the vaccine passport haves and have-nots in 2021, life in society’s second tier will become increasingly inconvenient, but not if enough people refuse the Real ID.
Remember, that’s what forced restaurants to drop their stupid game of requiring vaccine passports in the Summer of 2021. They lost 50% of their business in a month.
Contact Your Reps: Our state representatives can reverse this. I believe this is a non-partisan issue, as long as your State rep is educated – by you. Sign this Real ID Petition from Stand for Health Freedom to automatically contact your own reps, President Trump and Vice President Vance.
Support Our Medical Freedom Legal Work to Cement Rights: What Free Now Foundation does to protect and regain medical freedom rights in court can insulate us from medical mandates in the future. Medical mandates that could be part of a digitized Real ID. We have a suit to end mandates, and a suit to compel acceptance of a federal vaccine exemption. We think medical freedom will be the biggest part of a Surveillance Technocracy, just like it was in 2021, and we aim to cement our freedoms, now. Please don’t forget to support our legal work. We may even decide to file a case against the Real ID.
Prevent a Surveillance Technocracy
Post-Independence Day weekend, think about the fact that we’ll never have a Technocracy Independence Day. If we are in a Technocracy, we will never reverse it. We will never be able to declare independence from a Technocracy.
We can only prevent it.
Think about how you can do that. And watch my presentation from Freedom Fest 2025 for more information and solutions.

I mistakenly got a real ID five years ago. I have an appointment with DMV to change back to a regular ID . I will breathe easier when that happens. Thank you for bringing this into the light.
So happy to hear you are taking it back. Please spread the word. It depends on all of us to get a critical mass of us rejecting Real ID.
So appreciate yr work
I was told in Indiana that I couldn’t get a passport without a Real ID 10 years ago which wasn’t true! In Indiana they say once you have a Real ID it cannot be changed back. Is this true? Can someone please advise me on this? Thank you.
Hi Mark, thank you for pointing this out. Upon further research, here’s what we are seeing:
In both CA and Indiana, you cannot revert from REAL ID to a standard license mid-term.
You can revert, but only when renewing, by choosing the non‑REAL ID option.
If you’re currently using your REAL ID for flight travel or federal facility access and still need those, keep your REAL ID. If you rely on a passport or don’t need federal access, you can choose to switch at your next renewal.
I looked on the Indiana.gov/bmv and it states that once you have a Real ID it can never be changed back. I just called and spoke to them and they told me the exact same thing. I went on to explain that during my last renewal for a driver’s license and passport I was erroneously told that I had to get the Real ID in order to get my
passport which wasn’t true. They told me that it didn’t matter and I can never change it back! I asked if there was agency in Indiana that I could speak to about it and was told no. They said I could contact the DHS. I asked why because that is a Federal entity and not a State one? That is a violation of the 14th amendment of the Federal Government superseding State Government. So if you live in Indiana beware that no matter what false information you were told by the BMV making you think that you had to get the Real ID you can never get a non Real ID even at renewal time which I had been hoping by the information given above. If anyone knows anything else that can actually be done in Indiana about this please let me know. Thank you.
It is very useful for you to publish the reality that the Real ID is not mandatory and that only 44% of the population has it currently. This is a fairly strong basis for a) continued resistance and b) informing others who felt no choice other than to oblige to reclaim their previous non-real ID status.
Thank you!
Thanks Grayce! I’m also looking into whether or not you need to formally withdraw your consent for DHS to use our data. I’m getting some legal opinions on that. The question is: is it enough to return your Real ID, and get a regular DL? Will that withdraw your consent, or do you need to formally provide notice in writing to DMV or DHS, or both, that you withdraw your consent for DHS to use your private data?
Please update us once you find this information out. Thank you for all of your hard work on this!
Thank you for this information. I listened to the Dark Horse interview with Twila Brase on this topic. Your post is good. However, please refrain from using “Karen “ — Vaccine Karen — in a derogatory manner. Your vocabulary is good enough to find an appropriate term.
Interesting article, I would like to know how I can find out about if California is a mandatory state, I have plans of going into DMV and removing my donor status as well, that too is bs.
Hi Judith,
No state is “mandatory,” even though you may be told that you “must get your REAL ID.” You may withdraw your RealID and re-apply for a regular driver’s license at the CA DMV. Simply stand your ground. If you have a valid U.S. Passport, that grants you more privileges than any REAL ID, anyway!
