DAF Day is October 9, 2025
You may be surprised how a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) can benefit you at any level of giving! You may have a DAF, or you may have heard about Schwab Charitable or Fidelity Charitable and think those are for the ultra-wealthy folks.
Surprisingly, they are for anyone who is charity-minded, and they are very easy to set up.
Free Now Foundation now joins nonprofits nationwide for DAF Day, the “Giving Tuesday” of Donor-Advised Fund giving. A little tech integration now means you can donate directly on our website through a DAF!
We’re verified and have DAF giving seamlessly integrated into our donation checkout process, right on our website. With your help spreading the word, we can launch with a bang our DAF donations campaign to benefit medical freedom legal work in California and beyond.
Free Now Foundation Board Members – Alix Mayer, Kim Leonoudakis and Aimee Rickabus – explain in the short video below how easy it is to set up a DAF, and how it can benefit all your giving – whether your annual giving is $200, or more than $1 million.
We hope you’ll support Free Now Foundation’s medical freedom legal work in a substantial way between now and October 9th, DAF Day! We cannot do this work to expand exemptions and end mandates without you. In fact, we are about to launch two new lawsuits thanks to your generosity! We are so very grateful for your support — both in past — and on DAF Day!
See our DAF FAQ below for more information. You can also email Kim Leonoudakis, Board Treasurer, with questions about setting up a DAF for the first time, or about DAF giving. She’s happy to help you!: [email protected]

FAQ
Q: What is a Donor-Advised Account?
A: A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible, and tax-efficient way to manage your charitable giving. By setting up a DAF, you join a growing community of supporters who are committed to defending medical freedom—thoughtfully, strategically, and powerfully.
Q: How does a Donor-Advised Account benefit me?
A: A DAF is like your own personal charitable giving account, a simple tool to plan your charitable giving that simplifies your recording keeping. You can fund it any time, at which point you’ll create a tax-deductible gift for the year you make a contribution to your DAF. That’s especially handy in a year you might need a bigger deduction to offset taxable income. Then, that year or in future years, you can make gifts from your DAF to your favorite charities, like Free Now Foundation. You can also set up planned giving with monthly, quarterly, or annual donations. If you give to multiple charities, you won’t have to scour email to find all the donation receipts for your charitable giving tax write-off. They are all in one place at your DAF provider, and you’ll get a year-end summary statement from them.
Q: How can I set up a DAF?
A: A DAF is simple to set up at one of more than 1,000 DAF providers, including Schwab Charitable, Wells Fargo, Fidelity Charitable and many more. Your current financial institution is likely on this list.
Q: How does DAF giving differ from how I used to give through my DAF?
A: A little tech integration in our donation check-out process allows you to select your DAF institution and link directly to it, processing the donation to Free Now Foundation as quickly as a credit card transaction.
Q: Can I give in other ways?
A: Yes! You can still give to Free Now Foundation online with a credit card or ACH, by mail to our new address in Redwood City, or even through your workplace with a matching donation. Choose what works best for you—whether it’s a one-time gift, a monthly donation, appreciated stock, crypto, in-kind support, or planned giving though a Donor-Advised Fund or Charitable Foundation.
Q: Who can help answer my DAF or giving questions?
We’d love to hear from you! Please reach out to Kim Leonoudakis, Board Treasurer, with questions about setting up your DAF or about DAF giving. She’s happy to help you!: [email protected]
Every gift, big or small, helps us continue our mission to end mandates and ensure a future of medical freedom.
